I recorded some gameplay today with OBS, then once that was done I used the Nvidia GeForce Instant Replay tool to save the last 20 minutes. I use OBS and it works great for things like my emulators if I’m recording anything from SNES and Genesis, up to PS2, WiiU and Dolphin. I normally get about 120 but it dips to about 90-100 when recording via OBS on 4K ultra. I am playing on 4K ultra settings, and my frame rate is higher than what OBS records. I’ve also made sure I set my source to record game capture instead of display capture, and play the game in full screen.

I find that Nvidia Shadowplay offers a much better output with a lot less lag than recording through OBS.įirstly, on OBS I have the following settings:įormat: mkv Encoder: NVIDIA HVENC Rate control: CQP CQ Level: 14 Key frame interval: 2 Preset: Max Quality Profile: Main GPU: 2 Max B-frames

Unfortunately, I don’t have a dedicated streaming/recording PC, so I record from the same PC I play from. I’ve been recording some Warzone clips on my PC.
